Role Overview
Otis is looking for a Spare Parts Center In-Charge (G3) to lead our Malaysia Spare Parts Center operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, accuracy, and timely distribution of spare parts to support service operations and customer commitments across the market.
The Spare Parts Center In-Charge will oversee warehouse and inventory operations, manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers, drive operational excellence, and partner closely with Service, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Field Operations teams to deliver industry-leading service performance.
In addition to daily operations, this role will drive inventory optimization, process improvements, digitalization initiatives, and performance management to enhance customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and working capital performance.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Spare Parts Center Operations Management
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Spare Parts Center, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations.
- Manage and oversee 3PL service providers to ensure achievement of service, quality, inventory, and contractual performance requirements.
- Ensure timely receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipment of spare parts to support customer and field service requirements.
- Establish operational governance and review mechanisms to drive continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Service Parts Fulfillment & Customer Support
- Ensure timely fulfillment of service parts orders, emergency requirements, and critical customer escalations.
- Partner with Service and Field Operations teams to improve spare parts availability and responsiveness.
- Monitor service levels and implement corrective actions to minimize customer disruptions.
- Support business continuity through effective shortage management and expediting activities.
- Inventory Management & Optimization
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through effective inventory controls, cycle counts, and audit processes.
- Monitor inventory health, including stock availability, excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory, inventory turns, and replenishment performance.
- Drive inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining required service levels.
- Develop inventory planning and stocking strategies aligned with business demand.
- Performance Management & Reporting
- Establish and manage KPIs for warehouse performance, order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, service levels, productivity, and inventory health.
- Prepare regular operational reviews and performance reports for management.
- Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities through data analysis and performance monitoring.
- Drive accountability with internal teams and external providers to deliver agreed targets.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Serve as the primary interface between the Spare Parts Center, Service Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and external logistics providers.
- Manage supplier and 3PL performance through structured reviews, escalation management, and improvement plans.
- Support sourcing and procurement initiatives to improve part availability, cost competitiveness, and supply chain resilience.
- Collaborate across functions to support strategic business objectives and customer commitments.
- Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation
- Lead initiatives to improve warehouse productivity, inventory visibility, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation and optimization of ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), and digital inventory management solutions.
- Drive standardization of processes, controls, and reporting across spare parts operations.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement leveraging Lean, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
- Compliance, Safety & Governance
- Ensure full compliance with Otis policies, safety requirements, inventory governance standards, and audit requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment and promote strong safety culture across warehouse operations.
- Ensure regulatory, statutory, and company compliance requirements are consistently met.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in spare parts operations, warehouse management, logistics, inventory control, or supply chain management.
- Experience managing 3PL providers, warehouse operations, and inventory planning.
- Experience in elevator, industrial equipment, manufacturing, or after-sales service operations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of spare parts management, warehouse operations, inventory planning, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Experience with ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and inventory management tools.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Self-driven and capable of operating effectively in a dynamic business environment.
