Description

The Senior Director, Manufacturing IT & Asia Technology Operations serves as the senior IT leader responsible for enabling, operating, and transforming the digital ecosystem that supports Sandisk's backend manufacturing operations across Asia.

This Role Provides Executive Leadership For Manufacturing IT Supporting:

• Sandisk Storage Malaysia (SDSM), Sandisk's flagship backend manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia.
• Sandisk Shanghai Semiconductor Joint Venture (SDSS-JV), Sandisk's backend manufacturing joint venture operation in Shanghai, China.
• Backend Contract Manufacturing Partners supporting Sandisk production operations.
• Fab Joint Venture Fab Operations in Japan, serving as the primary IT relationship leader between Sandisk and the JV Fab.
• Sandisk Bangalore Technology Center, ensuring alignment, talent effectiveness, and operational performance across the site.
  
  

The Senior Director serves as the single point of accountability for Manufacturing IT services across the region and acts as the primary liaison between manufacturing business leadership, operations executives, corporate IT organizations, and strategic external partners.

The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, resilience, scalability, and modernization of manufacturing technology platforms that enable world-class semiconductor manufacturing performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic and operational leadership for all Manufacturing IT functions supporting SDSM and SDSS.

Ensure manufacturing systems consistently achieve availability, performance, and resiliency requirements necessary to support 24x7 semiconductor operations.

Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing leadership to align technology capabilities with business objectives.

Lead the evolution of SDSM's Lighthouse Factory capabilities and drive continued digital transformation initiatives across backend operations.

Responsibilities Include:

• Automation strategy and roadmap execution.

Translate business objectives into technology strategies and ensure IT priorities are aligned with manufacturing goals.

Establish regular governance processes, executive reviews, and strategic planning forums to drive accountability and outcomes.

• Fab Joint Venture IT Leadership
  
  

Serve as the primary Sandisk IT executive supporting the Fab Joint Venture relationship with Fab in Japan.

Partner Closely With:

• Sandisk SVP of Fab Operations
• Fab IT Leadership
• Fab Manufacturing Leadership

• Facilitating delivery of IT commitments supporting fab operations.
• Escalation management and issue resolution.

Ensure strong collaboration, transparency, and execution across both companies.

Provide leadership and oversight for the IT capabilities supporting Sandisk's backend Contract Manufacturing network.

• IT governance and operating model alignment.
• Connectivity and integration strategy.
• Factory systems interoperability.
• Security and compliance oversight.

• Operational support escalation management.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, or related discipline.
• MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
• 10+ years supporting semiconductor manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading global Manufacturing IT organizations.
• Experience supporting MES, Factory Automation, OT, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Experience working with joint ventures, strategic partnerships, or outsourced manufacturing environments.
