Staff Engineer Product Engineering (VCSEL)

Description:

• Manage the entire product portfolio throughout its lifecycle, ensuring performance, quality, and cost objectives are met.
• Serve as the central point of contact for all product-related matters, providing clear communication and coordination across teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield and test processes to optimize costs and enhance product efficiency.
• Conduct statistical analysis of characterization and test data to identify cost drivers and implement yield improvement programs.
• Collaborate closely with project teams during the development phase (e.g. design and test reviews) to ensure a seamless transition from development to mass production. Support the quality assurance team with RMA handling and failure analysis.
• Act as the technical interface for internal stakeholders and external customers, delivering expert guidance and support. Ensure that any fabrication process modifications comply with product performance and reliability requirements.
• Monitor production and feedback relevant issues to ensure DFM

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Physics, Opto-electronics, or a related technical field.
• Min. 2–3 years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, yield engineering, or testing (VCSEL or laser experience preferred).
• Solid understanding of semiconductor lasers, manufacturing processes, and applications (ideally in VCSEL technology). Strong analytical and fact-based decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Six Sigma problem-solving and Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience in product qualifications, quality standards, and failure analysis.
• Knowledge of product routings, workflows, and development processes. Strong scripting/programming skills
• Project management experience and ability to work cross-functionally. Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive attitude, and holistic problem-solving approach.
