Role Description The Staff Registered Nurse (Catheterization Laboratory) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bandar Bukit Tinggi. This role is responsible for preparing patients for cardiac and vascular procedures, including pre-procedure assessment, education, and informed consent support. The nurse assists the medical team during catheterization procedures, manages equipment and supplies, monitors patient status, and responds promptly to changes in condition. Daily responsibilities include administering medications as prescribed, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and adhering to infection control and safety protocols. The role also involves coordinating post-procedure care, supporting patient and family education, collaborating closely with physicians and allied health professionals, and participating in quality improvement initiatives within the catheterization laboratory.
Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant nursing council and a valid practicing certificate.
  • Experience in a catheterization laboratory, cardiac care unit, or critical care setting, with strong skills in cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessment.
  • Proficiency in clinical nursing skills, including IV therapy, medication administration, sterile techniques, and emergency response (e.g., BLS/ACLS certification).
  • Knowledge of catheterization laboratory procedures, equipment handling, radiation safety, and adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making abilities, especially in fast-paced and high-acuity environments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working within multidisciplinary teams and providing clear patient and family education.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, continuous learning, and participation in training, audits, and quality improvement activities.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution; additional certification in cardiac nursing or critical care is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call duties, as required by the catheterization laboratory schedule.
