About the Role
The Strategy Analyst Intern will support the Strategy team in evaluating business opportunities, conducting market and competitor research, preparing internal reports and presentations, and assisting with cross-functional projects. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, curious, commercially aware, and interested in fintech, strategy, and business growth. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to how strategic decisions are made in a regulated fintech environment, including business planning, partnerships, product development, market expansion, and management reporting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research on industry trends, competitors, customer segments, and emerging opportunities
- Assist in analysing business performance, internal data, and commercial metrics
- Support preparation of management presentations, strategy papers, briefing notes, and reports
- Help track strategic initiatives, partnerships, project timelines, and key action items
- Assist with financial and business analysis for new products, markets, or partnerships
- Compile and structure information for investor materials, business proposals, and internal decision-making
- Support cross-department coordination with teams such as Sales, Marketing, Operations, Credit, Compliance, and Tech
- Prepare meeting notes, summaries, and follow-up trackers for strategic discussions
- Assist with benchmarking and research on best practices in fintech, SME financing, and digital financial services
- Undertake ad hoc analysis and special projects assigned by the Strategy team
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, Data Analytics, Public Policy, or a related field
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organise information clearly
- Able to think critically and work with both qualitative and quantitative information
- Responsible, proactive, and able to manage deadlines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing projects
Preferred Skills
- Interest in fintech, investments, SME financing, or strategy consulting
- Familiarity with financial modelling, presentation design, or data visualisation
- Exposure to Canva, Power BI, Google Sheets, or similar tools
Pay range and compensation package
Internship Duration: Minimum 3 months preferred. Longer internship periods are an added advantage.
