Job Description

About The Role

The Strategy Officer exists to support the Managing Director in forming, implementing and monitoring company strategy. You will help turn strategic intent into documented plans, help drive those plans into execution across the organisation, and maintain the reporting and tracking that tells us whether they are working. We are looking for raw analytical horsepower, exceptional communication with all channels, and someone who takes ownership without being chased.

Location: Kuala Lumpur (with regular travel to Penang and occasional travel for meetings with agencies, partners and customers)

Level: Fresh Graduate / Entry Level

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent (3-month probation)

Reports to: Founder & Managing Director

Key Responsibilities

As a Strategy Officer, you will drive the company's strategic lifecycle by researching, implementing, and monitoring key business objectives and KPIs. Externally, you will manage investor relations, handle government grant applications, and coordinate with compliance professionals, while internally serving as the vital bridge between corporate and engineering teams to streamline communication and meeting cadences. Furthermore, you will support market development by gathering intelligence on the FPGA landscape to inform go-to-market strategies, and provide robust project management oversight by tracking schedules, deliverables, and risks across all commercial and product milestones.

  • Prepare research, analysis and option papers that inform the MD's strategic decisions; structure ambiguous questions into clear frameworks and written recommendations with supporting evidence
  • Support the annual and rolling business planning cycle, including strategic objectives, initiatives and targets
  • Translate agreed strategy into documented plans with owners, milestones, dependencies and resourcing
  • Cascade strategic priorities into departmental and individual objectives, and follow through to ensure they are understood and acted upon
  • Drive execution discipline: agendas, decision logs, action registers and follow-up until items are closed
  • Define and maintain the KPI set that measures whether strategy is being delivered
  • Produce management, Board and investor reporting packs on a fixed cadence
  • Maintain the strategic risk register; flag variance and slippage early, with options rather than only problems
  • Maintain the investor pipeline and CRM; prepare investor updates, data-room materials, pitch decks and due-diligence responses
  • Support engagement with government agencies and statutory bodies; draft, assemble and track grant and incentive applications end to end
  • Maintain market intelligence on the global and regional FPGA landscape, including competitors such as AMD, Altera, Lattice, Efinix and Gowin
  • Conduct market sizing and segmentation using authoritative primary sources
  • Track the customer, distributor and partner pipeline; prepare briefing notes ahead of the MD's meetings and capture follow-up actions
  • Maintain the consolidated programme view and Gantt schedules across product development, qualification and commercial milestones
  • Track deliverables, dependencies and interfaces between workstreams; identify where timelines are drifting out of alignment

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline with a strong academic record
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Working proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia sufficient to draft and review formal submissions to government agencies
  • Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable structuring data and building clear slides from a blank page
  • Structured thinker able to break an ambiguous problem into parts and produce a clear written recommendation
  • Meticulous attention to detail - grant submissions and investor documents are unforgiving of errors
  • Willingness to chase, follow up and hold others to committed dates without formal authority over them
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable operating in a startup with shifting priorities and no established playbook
  • Malaysian citizen
  • Internship or project experience in management consulting, venture capital, corporate development, a government agency, or a technology company is advantageous

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications, plus statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS) and annual leave in accordance with Malaysian law
