Overall Role Purpose
Supervisor will assist Head of Screening Centre / Managers with various export related regulatory compliance programs. This individual would be directly involved supervising the Denied Party Screening & Sanctions Screening Team with relevant internal/external stakeholder; day-to-day compliance issues; policies and procedures; reporting monthly compliance metrics; and work with operations to ensure procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Process
- Manage a team of screeners and analysts.
- Provide support on research and review of Denied/Restricted Parties shipments
- Review and update as necessary internal policies and procedures pertaining to regulations and export clearance, including coordinating the development or revision of procedures to ensure compliance
- Ensure that processes, procedures and operations are in compliance with government, customs, safety and all other applicable regulations
- Develop and deliver training relative to export activities as business needs dictate
- Research and review imports and exports against DHL policy and government regulations
- Provide guidance to company employees on all export compliance issues, including interpretation and application of the applicable rules/regulations
- Responsible for keeping abreast of new or pending laws and regulations that could potentially affect the business, and then communicate compliance changes to impacted areas of the organization
- Provide regulatory compliance reports, and establish compliance metrics for improvement of compliance and reduction in agency penalties/violations
- Respond to internal/external compliance inquiries
- Assists with annual regulatory compliance audits of gateways, hubs and service centres
- Conduct regular export compliance process reviews and internal audits across all operating units to assure export compliance effectiveness and identify areas of weakness for improvement
- Ensure, with superiors , that all employees are properly trained on all aspects of governmental and regulatory agency regulations and DHL policies and procedures
- Responsible for coaching, developing and training up to 10 -12 analysts.

Stakeholders
- Providing a feedback for Customer's requests and escalations
- Supports customers with service/operational issues related to Denied Parties/Embargoes compliance.
- Discusses, advises and negotiates with customers in order to ensure highest level of compliance whilst maintaining highest level of service.
- Work with local country organizations to ensure a secure network via compliant processes.
- Escalate all confirmed valid match records/shipments requiring potential legal consultation to the Managers.
Management Responsibilities
- Supporting the manager, manage a subset Export compliance; responsible for all aspects of day-to-day personnel management of Export compliance team including resourcing, shift planning, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff etc.
- Direct Supervision of 10 - 12 analysts
- Responsible for coaching, training and developing analysts
Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skill
- Excellent communication skill in English (both oral and written)
- Fluent English and another regional language, depending on the region requirement (Korean, Japanese, Mandarin etc)
- Highly motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work in fast pace and high pressured environment

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database and web-based applications
- Possess high knowledge in trade compliance and export control regulations or have legal background (preferable)

Expected Years Of Experience
- Min 5-6 years of relevant working experience in regulatory compliance, export control, customs and transportation related fields
- Min 3 year experience in supervisory or other leadership role
Educational Qualifications
- Degree Holder from a reputable academic institution or equivalent by experience (preferable in international law, international business administration a plus)
