UCT is looking for a talented Quality Engineer III to join us in Malaysia!

Job Summary

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing and improving supplier quality performance to support semiconductor major customers, including Applied Materials and Lam Research. This role involves leading supplier qualification activities, supporting New Product Qualification (NPI), managing First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) submissions, and driving corrective actions to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements into the web portal

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Support Applied Materials New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Review and approve supplier qualification documents including Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, and Work Instructions.
  • Ensure supplier readiness for new product launch and engineering changes (ECO/ECN).
  • Coordinate sample builds, validation runs, and qualification submissions.
  • Review and validate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Ensure dimensional, cosmetic, surface finish, and functional requirements are met.
  • Verify supporting documents such as material certificates, CoC, special process certifications, and test reports.
  • Ensure complete documentation package submission per customer requirement
  • Monitor supplier quality metrics (DPPM, OTD, Yield, CAPA closure).
  • Conduct supplier audits (process audit, system audit, special process audit).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives at supplier sites.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and improvement plan
  • Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, Fish bone methodology.
  • Issue and follow up on Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
  • Communicates quality standards to the QA team, and other appropriate staff.
  • Leading the MRB (Material Review Board) at the incoming material non-conformance.
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Customer Quality teams
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001

Educational/Certification Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
  • 35 years of experience in Supplier Quality within semiconductor or precision manufacturing industry.
  • Familiar with 8D, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and supplier management capability.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to support new product launches customer and supplier

Experience Requirement

  • Work independently with low supervision.
  • Good Computer literature with PowerPoint and excels skill.
  • Good interpersonal skill.
