Major Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
A Supply and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) Manager oversees the entire flow of goods and materials from suppliers to the production floor and ultimately to the customer, utilizing MRP systems to plan and manage inventory levels effectively. The key duties, responsibilities, and accountabilities are crucial for optimizing efficiency, minimizing costs, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and Forecasting
- Demand and Supply Planning (raw material): Lead the development of accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical demand data, promotion needs, production usage and sales/marketing input. Balance this demand against raw material supply plans to support production plan.
- MRP Management: Utilize ERP/MRP tools to generate material requirements, manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensure the continuous flow of materials to support production schedules.
- Forecasting future demand: Conduct analysis to project future demand with the input from customers and Commercial on future forecast.
2. Supplier Management
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and assess supplier performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery (OTIF) and quality, implementing corrective actions for underperforming suppliers.
- Continuous improvement: Manage day-to-day operation ensuring entire smooth process from supply to production
3. Inventory Management
- Inventory Optimization: Manage and control raw material inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing stockouts, excess inventory, manage ageing stocks and carrying costs.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee the movement of raw material, support shipping, receiving, warehousing, and transportation, ensuring efficiency and compliance with customs and trade regulations.
- Process Efficiency: Identify process bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives to refine operations, reduce waste and minimize potential write-off.
4. Leadership and Collaboration
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with internal departments (supply chain, procurement, commercial, finance, production, R&D and FSQA) to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a strong MRP team, providing support and ensuring adequate guidance to the team on MRP
- Risk Management: Assess supply chain risks (e.g., supply disruptions, geopolitical influence and demand fluctuations) and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues and ensure business resilience.
Key Accountabilities
- Meeting Customer Demand: Ensuring raw materials are available and delivered on time to meet customer requirements.
- Inventory and Cost Control: Managing inventory, ageing stock, minimizing potential write-off, optimize inbound cost and identifying savings opportunities.
- Operational Compliance: Ensuring all supply chain activities comply with company policies, safety guidelines, and relevant laws/regulations.
- Performance Metrics: Defining, tracking, and reporting on key supply chain KPIs to senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop SOP, guidelines and documentation to strengthen MRP process. Driving initiatives to enhance overall supply chain efficiency, speed, and productivity.
- Digitalization: Establish real-time data analysis (dashboard) to provide MRP visibility and explore digitalized tools to simplify MRP
Qualifications
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration. Preferably prior experience in food industry related background.
- Minimum 5 years experience in management role of demand planning or supply chain.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in managing forecasts, planning, inventory performance and cross functional planning cycles.
- Experience handling high SKU counts, large volume and fast paced operation environments.
- Progressive experiences that demonstrate mastery of skills and knowledge necessary to perform responsibilities as defined.
