Supply Chain Planner (Chemical Industry)

Location: Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, Malaysia

About the Job

You will be responsible for production planning, inventory control, and delivery coordination to ensure efficient operations and on-time customer fulfillment. Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain production plans based on customer orders, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth execution of production schedules.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust plans to address changes in demand, material availability, or capacity constraints.

Order & Delivery Coordination

  • Track customer orders from order receipt through production and shipment.
  • Ensure on-time delivery performance and coordinate with logistics teams for shipment arrangements.
  • Manage order priorities and resolve planning conflicts to meet customer requirements.

Capacity & Resource Management

  • Analyze production capacity utilization and identify bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to optimize manpower, equipment, and material resources.
  • Support production efficiency improvement initiatives.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess stock.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly planning reports.
  • Analyze production performance, delivery performance, and planning KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate planning data in ERP/MRP systems.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the communication bridge between Sales, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams.
  • Coordinate solutions for production and delivery issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of production planning experience in chemical, manufacturing, battery materials, or related industries.
  • Experience in production scheduling, capacity planning, material planning, or supply chain planning is preferred.
  • Experience in multinational manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in English and Chinese are highly preferred to facilitate effective communication with China headquarters, technical teams, and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and inventory management principles.
  • Familiar with management systems including: ISO9001, IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO45001
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent reporting and data interpretation capabilities.
