Job Overview
This person will play a key role in managing and monitoring compliant cross-border transactions, while enabling decisions in support of a robust global supply chain. You will interact with diverse, inter-departmental experts in support of the accuracy and integrity required in LMW customs declarations. The purpose of this role is to facilitate TE's compliance, at the BU level, with import and export regulations globally to enhance global trade compliance, reduce risk, increase responsiveness to issues and opportunities, and facilitate effective operational aspects of international trade.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate TE's compliance, at the BU level, with import and export regulations globally to enhance global trade compliance, reduce risk, increase responsiveness to issues and opportunities, and facilitate effective operational aspects of international trade.
Job Requirements
- Manage and support LMW operations and compliance with Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) requirements and LMW license conditions.
- Oversee and support LMW license applications, renewals, amendments, audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of required customs/LMW reports, including M1, M2, M4, and other applicable reports.
- Manage appropriate customs inventory controls, recordkeeping, and documentation.
- Provide compliance guidance with Malaysian requirements for import, export, re-export, and transfers.
- Provide guidance on HS classification, Country of Origin/Rules of Origin, customs valuation, duty/tax, and FTA requirements.
- Oversee compliance with Malaysia's Strategic Trade Act (STA) and applicable strategic trade control requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of internal customs and trade compliance policies and Country Regulatory Instructions (CRI).
- Conduct internal audits and compliance assessments of trade processes to identify risks, control gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide expert advice to Procurement, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Operations, and other functions on customs regulations, import/export requirements, Country of Origin, and trade compliance matters.
- Additional trade compliance, customs, and logistics duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Min 5+ years of experience in customs, trade compliance, import/export, or logistics, preferably within LMW environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and systems like GTO SAP or specialized trade/customs software.
- Strong knowledge of MIDA, Malaysia customs regulations, LMW requirements, and Strategic Trade Act (STA).
- Working knowledge of HS classification, Country of Origin/Rules of Origin, customs valuation, duty/tax, and FTAs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
