Job Description
Sustainability & Green Building Intern
NEA◦POLI is seeking a motivated intern to join our sustainability and green-building consultancy team for an immediate start. The internship will run for three to six months.
The intern will support our consultants on live building and urban-development projects, gaining practical experience in sustainability assessment, environmental design and building-performance analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Support LEED, GreenRE, GBI and other green-building certification projects.
- Assist with technical research, calculations, data analysis and report preparation.
- Review drawings, specifications and project documentation against sustainability requirements.
- Help prepare certification submissions, presentations and client deliverables.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers and other project consultants.
- Contribute to environmental studies and building-performance assessments.
Training provided
The successful candidate will receive practical training in:
- Green-building rating systems, including LEED, GBI and GreenRE.
- Sustainability assessment and certification procedures.
- Dynamic building energy simulation using EnergyPlus.
- Interpretation of simulation results and preparation of technical reports.
- Application of environmental analysis to real building projects.
Candidate profile
- Currently studying, or recently graduated in, architecture, engineering, building science, environmental science, sustainability or a related subject.
- Available to start immediately and undertake an internship of three to six months.
- Genuine interest in sustainable design and high-performance buildings.
- Good analytical, research and organisational skills.
- Clear written and spoken English.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CAD, BIM, Rhino, Grasshopper or environmental simulation software would be an advantage.
- Able to work carefully, meet deadlines and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team.
