Sustainability Manager

Location: Kuala Lumpur (within 10km from KLCC)

Budget: RM180000PA

Reporting to: Head of Strategic Communications & Sustainability

Role Purpose

To architect and execute the Group's ESG roadmap, moving beyond compliance to integrate sustainability into the DNA of our Property Development and Manufacturing divisions. You will lead the transition toward Integrated Reporting, explicitly linking non-financial ESG milestones to tangible financial outcomes, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Framework Development

Strategy Ownership: Design and deploy the Group's multi-year sustainability roadmap, ensuring alignment across diverse business units (Property & Manufacturing).

Governance Architecture: Establish robust sustainability policies, SOPs, and governance structures to ensure accountability at every level.

Operational Integration: Act as a strategic partner to operational heads to embed resource optimization and energy efficiency into core business processes.

2. Advanced ESG Reporting (Bursa Malaysia & International Standards)

Integrated Reporting: Lead the end-to-end preparation of the Annual Sustainability Report.

Financial Linkage: Develop models to demonstrate how ESG performance drives cost efficiencies, enhances brand equity, and mitigates regulatory risk.

Data Integrity: Orchestrate cross-functional data collection and validation, ensuring audit-ready non-financial disclosures.

3. Ratings, Compliance & Research

Benchmark Excellence: Manage submissions and improve scores for major indices (e.g., FTSE4Good, MSCI, S&P Global).

Regulatory Watch: Maintain absolute compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and keep the executive team briefed on emerging global standards (TCFD, IFRS S1/S2).

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

External Advocacy: Manage relationships with regulators, ESG rating agencies, investors, and NGOs.

Internal Culture: Lead 1 Senior Executive and collaborate cross-functionally to promote a culture of sustainability.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or Finance.

Experience: 6–8 years of dedicated ESG/Sustainability experience. Candidates from Top-tier Consulting firms (Big 4 or ESG Boutiques) are highly preferred.

Industry Context: Prior experience in Property Development or Manufacturing is a significant advantage.

Certifications: Professional ESG certifications (e.g., GRI, SASB, SCR) are preferred.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Analytical Power: Ability to translate complex ESG data into financial impact narratives.

Regulatory Expert: Deep familiarity with Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.

Stakeholder Management: High emotional intelligence; able to influence C-suite stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Tooling: Mastery of MS Excel (data modeling) and PowerPoint (executive-level storytelling).
