Key Responsibilities
- Participate in application development, enhancement, and maintenance activities under defined architectures and standards.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements in collaboration with academic, administrative, and IT stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for system interfaces, reports, and workflows.
- Conduct gap analysis between current processes and target system capabilities.
- Support system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), including test case preparation, defect tracking, and resolution.
- Troubleshoot application issues and support defect resolution in coordination with development teams.
- Assist in data migration, validation, and integration activities during system rollouts.
- Prepare and maintain functional and technical documentation, including specifications, test scripts, and deployment guides.
- Work closely with developers, system architects, QA teams, and end users to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Support change management activities, training sessions, and post-go-live support.
Requirements
Education Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in business analysis or functional consulting, preferably in the higher education or public sector domain.
- Hands-on experience with student information systems such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or Banner will be an advantage.
Technical Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of academic structures, student lifecycle processes, and institutional reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodology, and project management practices.
- Proficiency in writing business and functional requirement documents, process flow diagrams, and gap analysis reports.
- Comfortable working with tools such as SQL, Excel, JIRA, and collaboration platforms.
- Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL/ PLSQL (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL).
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, .NET, or scripting languages.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in ERP/SIS upgrade or implementation projects.
- Experience working in higher education settings or with government/public sector clients.
- Exposure to middleware integration or analytics tools is a plus.
