Role Description The Takaful Consultant role at PruBSN Takaful is a full-time, on-site position based in Miri. The consultant will engage with potential and existing customers to understand their protection and savings needs, and recommend suitable Shariah-compliant takaful plans. Daily responsibilities include meeting clients, explaining product features and benefits, preparing and presenting proposals, and assisting with enrollment and documentation. The role involves follow-up support for policyholders, including periodic reviews of coverage, responding to inquiries, and guiding them through claims or policy changes when needed. The consultant is also expected to participate in outreach activities, maintain accurate records of client interactions, and collaborate with the team to achieve sales and service targets while upholding ethical and compliance standards.
Qualifications

  • Ability to build trust with clients, understand their financial and protection needs, and communicate takaful concepts clearly and respectfully.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills to engage diverse customers and explain product options in an accessible way.
  • Basic financial literacy and an interest in Islamic finance or takaful principles; prior experience in insurance, banking, or financial services is an advantage.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple client appointments, documentation, and follow-ups efficiently.
  • Comfort working in an on-site, client-facing role in Miri, with a proactive mindset and the capacity to work both independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; ability to communicate in Malay or additional local languages is beneficial.
  • Minimum of a diploma or equivalent qualification; higher education in business, finance, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, customer-centric service, and adherence to regulatory and company compliance requirements.
