Role Description The Takaful Consultant is a full-time role based in Shah Alam with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on engaging with prospective and existing customers to understand their protection and financial needs, and to provide suitable family takaful solutions in line with regulatory and Shariah requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and following up with leads, conducting needs-based consultations, presenting product features and benefits, and assisting customers through the proposal, onboarding, and claims processes. The Takaful Consultant will maintain accurate records, prepare basic reports on sales activities and customer feedback, and collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns and service improvements. The role also involves staying updated on PruBSN products, industry developments, and compliance standards through ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including active listening, relationship building, and clear communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Sales and consulting capabilities, such as needs analysis, solution presentation, negotiation, and closing, with a focus on ethical, needs-based recommendations.
  • Basic financial literacy and understanding of takaful or insurance concepts; familiarity with Shariah principles in financial services is an advantage.
  • Organizational and administrative skills, including time management, record keeping, and ability to work with CRM or similar systems.
  • Comfort with digital tools and remote collaboration, including video conferencing, online presentations, and mobile/online applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams, with a proactive, target-driven mindset and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum qualification of a diploma or bachelor's degree in any field; relevant professional certifications in financial services or takaful are a plus.
  • Prior experience in financial services, insurance/takaful, banking, or customer service is beneficial but motivated entry-level candidates are also encouraged to apply.
