In Malaysia, the company is in a significant hyper-growth phase. Following the establishment of their Rawang site last year, the facility is scaling rapidly. Over the next five years, the plant is projected to expand from several hundred employees to several thousand. As this progressive scaling occurs, they are seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition Assistant Manager to lead professional-level recruitment and build the core technical and commercial teams that will drive innovation and operational excellence at this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

The Role

This is a specialized, high-impact role focused on attracting top-tier white-collar talent. You will be responsible for sourcing and engaging the engineers, scientists, and business leaders who will form the backbone of the organization. Moving beyond volume hiring, you will focus on quality, precision, and candidate experience for mid-to-senior level professional roles. You will work closely with the TA Manager and department heads to ensure that the company attracts the best minds in the industry to support its rapid expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Specialized Talent Mapping & Sourcing:

  • Lead talent acquisition efforts for white-collar roles, including Engineers, Supply Chain Planners, Finance, and HR professionals.
  • Conduct market mapping and intelligence-gathering to identify talent pools in the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
  • Utilize proactive sourcing strategies (LinkedIn Recruiter, Booleans, industry networking, and direct headhunting) to engage passive, high-caliber candidates.

End-to-End Recruitment Lifecycle:

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for professional-level positions, ensuring a rigorous yet seamless candidate journey.
  • Craft compelling job descriptions and value propositions that resonate with experienced professionals in the battery technology and manufacturing space.
  • Oversee offer management, negotiation, and closing of top-tier candidates.

Stakeholder Partnership:

  • Partner with hiring managers across Engineering, Operations, and Corporate functions to deeply understand role requirements, team dynamics, and technical competencies.
  • Train and guide hiring managers on best practices for behavioral interviewing and candidate assessment to ensure objective and consistent selection.
  • Act as a talent advisor, providing market insights and salary benchmarks to inform hiring decisions.

Employer Branding & Candidate Experience:

  • Champion the company's employer brand in the professional market, positioning it as the employer of choice for new energy innovation in Malaysia.
  • Ensure a high-touch, professional candidate experience that reflects the company's values and technological prestige.
  • Represent the company at career fairs, industry events, and networking sessions to build a strong professional network.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, with a proven track record in recruiting white-collar, technical, or professional roles.
  • Sector Exposure: Experience hiring for Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain functions is highly preferred. Candidates with agency or in-house backgrounds are welcome.
  • Sourcing Mastery: You possess strong headhunting and direct sourcing skills; you don't just wait for applications to come in.
  • Commercial Acumen: You understand the business beyond just filling roles. You can speak the language of engineers and business leaders alike.
  • Execution Mindset: You are results-oriented and strong in execution. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where speed and quality must co-exist.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus, as you will need to collaborate effectively with technical experts and stakeholders from regional headquarters.
