Tax Associate

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic team at Cheng & Co Group as a Tax Associate. As a Tax Associate, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax advisory services to our diverse client base. In this full-time role, you will be based in our Batu Pahat, Johor office.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and reviewing tax returns and related documentation for individual and corporate clients
• Conducting tax planning and optimisation strategies to minimise clients tax liabilities
• Assisting with tax audits and investigations, and representing clients before tax authorities
• Staying up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and regulations, and advising clients accordingly
• Collaborating with the larger Accounting team to provide integrated financial and tax solutions
• Contributing to the development of tax-related tools, templates and training materials

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Fresh Graduate
• Strong understanding of Malaysian tax laws and regulations, as well as international tax frameworks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and actionable tax advice
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients
• Proficient in the use of tax software and other relevant technology
• A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a commitment to providing exceptional client service
