Lead and manage assigned tax engagements following company procedures.
Supervise and review work of junior staff to ensure quality and compliance.
Prepare, review, and file tax returns accurately and on time.
Identify tax compliance and regulatory issues and provide solutions.
Build and maintain professional relationships with clients.
Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and guide the team accordingly.
Analyze financial and non-financial risks for clients.
Support special tax projects and process improvement initiatives.
Prepare reports and track team performance.
Engage closely with the director to complete special tax projects/assignments.
Manage and mentor members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement

JOB REQUIREMENT

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred
Strong knowledge of Income Tax Act 1967 (ITA 1967), RPGT 1976, and relevant sections of the Companies Act 2016.
Experience in tax compliance for companies, individuals, foundations, cooperative societies, and associations.
Familiarity with e-invoicing and digital tax tools.
Ability to mentor junior staff and coordinate team tasks effectively.
Up-to-date with Public Rulings, tax guidelines, and recent tax cases.
Knowledge of tax assessments, appeals (J forms, JA, JR, JBA), and resolving compliance issues.
Ability to analyze financial and non-financial risks for clients.
Experience in Labuan IBFC tax compliance is an advantage.
Experience with tax incentives and exemptions (e.g., Pioneer Status, Subsection 44(6), MSC).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of accounts, audit, and company secretary functions.
