Job Description

Summary of Role

Responsible for Chartering and Pool Functions (Intercompany) processes and other support as required. To ensure KPI's are achieved in accordance with Group corporate policies and with audit compliance. Assist in performing the general ledger functions which covers preparation of monthly report and schedules for process owner and stakeholders.

Key Result Areas

  • Preparation of monthly journal for the purposes of monthly closing process.
  • Processing of intercompany invoices (receivable and payable) with appropriate supporting documents to respective related companies including preparation for netting or offset.
  • Preparation of monthly report and schedules for process owner and stakeholders.
  • Support Tonnage Tax preparation function.

Responsibilities:

  • Record intercompany invoices (AP) received on monthly basis from HO and related companies.
  • Perform intercompany billing (AR) as per details agreed with related parties.
  • Preparing and posting journal entries and proposing for adjustment entries when needed.
  • Prepare and submit list of overdue invoices to netting team for netting purposes.
  • Perform netting entries and ensure completeness of TMA account on periodic basis.
  • Performing monthly periodic P&L variance analysis and provide commentaries to AMR ARO.
  • Attend to queries addressed by respective intercompany finance team, AMR, Corporate, Tax division, Auditor, etc.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet schedule.
  • Submit monthly report to Group Consolidation and reporting team and AMR ARO on all intercompany General Ledger and update IMR for reporting purpose.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliation and handle inquiries related to the variances if any.
  • Prepare monthly Tonnage Tax file including quarterly reviews and submit to HO Tax Team.
  • Assist HO tax team in the annual submission of Tonnage tax to Tax Authority.
  • Assist in HO chartering transactions.
  • Providing feedback to superior and participate in process improvement project to improve operational efficiency and controls.
  • Ensure all financial close activities are completed on consistent, accurate, timely basis in accordance with Policy and Operating Manual (POM).
  • Any other ad hoc assignment.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent with holder
  • Minimum 3-4 years relevant working experiences in accounting.
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office, e.g. MS Excel.
  • Proficiency in accounting applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) in order to deal effectively with both internal and external parties.
  • Dedicated, meticulous with strong analytical skills.
  • Possess good working attitude, able to work independently, manage pressure well and meeting deadlines.
