About CMA CGM FICOM (Finance Corporate Office Malaysia)

Located at Wisma Consplant 2, Subang Jaya, FICOM is the extended team of the Finance Corporate Division of the CMA CGM Group. It serves as the Finance Expertise Center, delivering non-transactional, value-added functions to support the Group's transformation and drive financial performance for key stakeholders.

About the Role

Preparation of Singapore GST returns for identified Singapore entities. As part of the finance organization, you will work with your finance colleagues to obtain the financial data and subjective information to prepare GST returns accurately and within the statutory deadlines.

Training will be provided through in-house training as well as skills enhancement programs through external training opportunities.

Key Result Area

  • Timely and accurate preparation of quarterly GST returns for the identified Singapore entities.
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve issues as needed on a timely basis.
  • Perform trend analysis and provide comments on QtQ and YtY variances.

Key Accountabilities

  • Execute the day-to-day activities for Singapore GST compliance for the identified legal entities.
  • Prepare, analyze and manage filing of GST returns and related reporting obligations.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly/quarterly trend analysis to identify inaccuracies, document reasons for month-to-month and quarter-to-quarter fluctuations to support potential queries.
  • Work with Finance Transformation teams on automation of work processes related to GST return preparation and filing as needed.
  • Develop and recommend GST compliance process improvements as appropriate.
  • Provide assistance on queries from IRAS, working with relevant staff and management on resolution.
  • Keep abreast of relevant tax law changes, update management and ensure timely and accurate implementation of such changes within the GST returns as required.
  • Lead in providing sample invoices and other data as required and work with external advisors in the renewal of GST related accreditation (ACAP, PAR).
  • Become subject matter expert in the mid to long term and provide support and advice to finance and other stakeholders on Singapore GST related matters including any ad hoc related requests.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with strong technical foundation.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of working experience in an accounting firm or commercial organisation.
  • Basic knowledge of GST/indirect taxes would be a strong advantage.
  • Able to work independently and liaise with overseas colleagues.
  • Analytical and meticulous for details.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates with hands on knowledge of SAP would be preferred.
  • Skill set and knowledge in process improvement by using digitalization and AI initiatives is an added advantage.
