Job Purpose & Key Accountablities
- Identifying and sourcing MRO parts, equipment, and services from qualified suppliers
- Provide support in response to requests for maintenance, repair, operations equipment, services, for both plant Bangi and Klang
- Evaluating supplier proposals and negotiating competitive pricing, delivery terms, and contracts
- Monitoring the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition to purchase order and delivery
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers
- Monitoring supplier performance and conducting regular evaluations
- Identifying and implementing strategies to improve supplier reliability and cost-effectiveness
- Working with the engineering team monitoring inventory levels and implementing strategies to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory
- Analyzing spending patterns and identifying opportunities for cost reduction
- Negotiating competitive pricing and payment terms with suppliers
- Tracking market trends and identifying cost-saving opportunities through innovative purchasing strategies
- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality and compliance
- Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and relevant regulations (e.g., safety, environmental)
- Collaborating with various departments, including maintenance, engineering, and operations, to understand their needs and ensure alignment on purchasing strategies
- Conduct detailed technical and commercial evaluations of quotations, working closely with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure specification alignment
- Ensure purchasing documentation, supplier records, and technical specifications are maintained accurately
Person Specification
- Diploma/Degree in any field of Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in machinery operation
- Capable of handling administrative tasks (records and documentation)
