Technical Lead (Node.js + Angular)

Responsibilities:

• Own the technical architecture for a squad's domain lead C4 model-based design discus-sions, produce design documents that engineers can read, challenge, and build from, and ensure designs account for compliance constraints (audit trails, data integrity, access controls) from the start.
• Write production code and review pull requests with enough depth to catch design issues, not just style nits, across the full TypeScript stack: Angular frontend, Node.js backend, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB data layer, and AWS infrastructure.
• Evaluate architectural tradeoffs, make decisions, and document the reasoning so the team understands why something was built a certain way designing for auditability, testability, and operational observability as defaults in a GxP-regulated SaaS environment.
• Mentor engineers through the work pair on hard problems, explain reasoning during design reviews, and deliver code review feedback that teaches raising the squad's technical judgment over time without creating dependency.
• Strengthen platform observability by establishing telemetry, monitoring, and alerting practices that enable the team to detect, diagnose, and resolve production issues quickly and with confidence.
• Collaborate with product and delivery on release planning to ensure features are technically feasible, properly scoped, designed for safe incremental release, and that risks are flagged early.
• Drive adoption of AI tooling across the software development lifecycle identify where AI re-moves friction in development, testing, documentation, and design, and embed these practices as the squad's default way of working.
• Apply and enforce GxP compliance controls audit trails, electronic signatures, data integrity, and access controls as integral architectural concerns aligned with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 requirements.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
2. Strong proficiency in TypeScript across the full stack, with demonstrated ability to design, build, and ship production systems in both Angular and Node.js, making informed decisions about patterns, frameworks, and API design (REST and GraphQL)
3. Hands-on experience with both relational and non-relational databases specifically PostgreSQL and DynamoDB including data modelling tradeoffs, query performance tuning, and schema design that supports both application needs and compliance requirements
4. Fluency in AWS services in production environments, including container orchestration (ECS), serverless compute (Lambda), workflow orchestration (Step Functions), infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation), event-driven architecture (EventBridge, SQS), storage (S3), and content delivery (CloudFront) with the ability to design infrastructure that is multi-AZ, recoverable, and observable
5. Demonstrated capability to make and own architecture decisions in a regulated environment such as life sciences (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11), fintech, healthcare, or government under-standing how audit trails, electronic signatures, and data integrity constraints inform and shape system design
6. Proven ability to produce clear technical design documents and architecture diagrams (C4 model) that communicate decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
7. Track record of leading architecture discussions evaluating competing approaches, choosing a direction, documenting the reasoning, and ensuring designs hold up under load and regulatory scrutiny
8. Strong mentoring impact demonstrated through pairing, design reviews, and code review feedback that raises the technical capability of other engineers teaching by working along-side, not by lecturing
9. Experience building and improving platform observability telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices that enable fast root-cause analysis and reliable production operations
10. Active and practical use of AI-assisted development tools across the software development lifecycle, with the ability to drive adoption within a team and validate all outputs to meet regulated-environment standards
11. Ability to collaborate effectively with product, delivery, QA, and infrastructure teams on release planning scoping work, identifying risks, and designing for safe, incremental deployment
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly to audiences inside and outside the engineering team
