A Day in Your Life at Atotech (MKS):
As a Technical Sales & Service Engineer, you will work closely with the Business Sales Team to deliver technical support for Atotech's chemical processes and equipment at customer sites. You will be a key technical partner for customers, ensuring stable operation, continuous improvement, and efficient utilization of Atotech solutions. In this role, you will report directly to the Product Marketing Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Lead On‑Site Process Setup & Troubleshooting
- Drive the on‑site make‑up, setup, and troubleshooting of Atotech chemical processes.
- Provide clear, well‑structured technical reports to support customers and internal teams.
Optimize & Improve Atotech Chemical Processes Stability
- Work hands‑on with customer process teams to optimize chemical performance, stability, and enhance productivity.
- Collaborate closely with Atotech Local & Global Product Teams to align best practices and implement process improvements.
Monitor & Analyze Chemical Consumption
- Conduct regular monitoring of chemical consumption trends at customer sites.
- Analyze usage patterns and recommend actions to ensure optimal chemical performance while reducing unnecessary waste or cost.
Transfer Process Knowledge to Customers
- Act as a technical mentor to customers by sharing Atotech process knowledge, establishing clear process controls, and enabling customers to run operations independently with consistent quality.
Support Accurate Chemical Forecasting
- Provide reliable consumption forecasts to the internal supply chain team, ensuring timely and uninterrupted chemical supply for customers production needs.
Travel Requirements
- Role is primarily based in Penang, Malaysia, with up to 25% outstation travel as required.
Skills You Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- 1–2 years of relevant working experience in the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry, preferably in a technical & engineering role.
- Hands‑on experience with PCB plating processes (plating process, Cu, Ni, Au etc.)
- Familiarity with chemical laboratory practices, including titration, familiar with lab instrumentation, molding cross section preparation..etc
- Demonstrated capability in problem solving, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action planning. Ability to work hands-on in a fast‑paced production environment and respond to technical challenges effectively.
- A valid Malaysian driving license and own car are essential, as frequent travel to customer sites is required within Penang and occasionally outstation.
