Job Title: Technical/Solution Architect

Role Overview: As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal client-facing role, primarily within the Insurance Industry. A critical aspect of your responsibilities will involve responding to RFPs and leveraging extensive AWS expertise. You will need to understand IT systems from both business and technical perspectives to assist the Sales team in securing new deals or upselling/cross-selling to existing customers. Your knowledge should encompass a range of technologies, including UNIX (Linux), Windows, Cloud platforms, and application programming languages such as Java and JavaScript frameworks (Spring, NodeJS, AngularJS, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the development of future-state architecture and ensure its effective adoption.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and definition for architecture programs that support business strategies.
  • Advocate and support enterprise IT strategies, identify and analyse business drivers, and recommend improvement solutions.
  • Work on complex bids and respond to RFPs, requiring deep knowledge in specialized architecture areas such as Core Insurance applications, network security, and information systems.
  • Lead consulting or architectural engagements with Insurance Clients as a Technical Solutions Consultant.
  • Conduct in-depth technical discussions with clients, providing tailored solutions that align with their IT landscape and future roadmap.
  • Break down large-scale projects into manageable components, determining suitable IT products through technical analysis and research.
  • Produce documentation to monitor project progress and ensure quality.
  • Establish in-house best practices and coding standards and conduct research & development on relevant technologies.
  • Create quick prototypes/POCs using the latest tools and technology.
  • Conduct sizing estimations and cloud architecture design, with a focus on AWS.
  • Engage with clients on technical discussions in a business context and provide solutions.
  • Understand the clients IT landscape and advise them on a roadmap to the future.
  • Collaborate with other DXC offerings and functional areas to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Provide strategic consultation to customers on business processes and organizational structures.
  • Facilitate agreement on work models to meet business requirements and leverage technology to optimize business processes.

Key Tasks:

  • Identifying organizational needs and engaging with clients on technical discussions in a business context.
  • Advising clients on IT roadmaps and future-state architecture.
  • Designing system frameworks or solutions based on the latest technologies.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet customer needs and contribute to successful sales.
  • Providing consultation to customer technology and service managers online-of-business (LOB) issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.

  • Knowledge of the insurance technology landscape and business.

Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in an architect role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Insurance/BFSI industry.
  • Technical knowledge of Java/J2EE, SQL, SAP, Oracle, SQL Server, Spring framework, XML, JSON, and Web Services.
  • Experience in developing RESTful APIs and designing Open APIs with JSON Schema.
  • Proficiency in data modelling and source code management tools such as GITHUB.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Knowledge of MongoDB, AngularJS, container technologies, and DevOps tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Chef).
