Job Description
- Set technology roadmap and prioritize new product and customization pipelines.
- Institutionalize design standards, stage-gate processes, and validation feedback loops.
- Drive innovation in mechanical design to reduce energy consumption and enhance product features.
- Lead multi-country project and engineering teams to scope, design, execute, and commission solutions on time and within budget.
- Conduct risk reviews, manage change control, and ensure compliance with local codes and permitting requirements.
- Serve as senior technical advisor in strategic pursuits and executive-level presentations.
- Translate customer requirements into robust solution architectures and compelling ROI narratives.
- Embed product and project governance, ensuring adherence to codes, standards, and internal quality systems.
- Champion safety principles and design-for-safety practices.
- Assist in hiring, developing, and retaining top talent across R&D and project teams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Service, Operations, Finance, and HR to achieve regional growth objectives.
- Manage regional technical budgets, portfolio prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost-out initiatives, and digital automation opportunities in engineering workflows.
The Successful Applicant
- Master's degree (minimum) or PhD in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in engineered solutions, products, or systems with a strong mechanical core.
- 5-7+ years leading both R&D and project delivery functions.
- Deep technical expertise in mechanical design, thermofluids, heat transfer, materials, and systems integration.
- Fluency with modern CAD/PLM and simulation tools.
- Mastery of stage-gate product development and end-to-end project management methodologies.
- Proven ability to present to C-level and technical authorities, translating complex requirements into feasible solutions.
- Experience in multi-country team leadership, workforce planning, and talent development.
- Ability to travel across Asia as required.
- Excellent business English; additional Asian languages are an advantage.
