Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur (Plaza Mont Kiara), supporting Product Management, Engineering, Delivery, and Training & Education in maintaining and improving Squirro's technical documentation and partner community engagement.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for ensuring that Squirro's technical documentation and community resources remain accurate, clear, and up to date. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand new features, identify documentation gaps, and help strengthen our partner ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

Documentation Management

  • Maintain and update all public-facing technical product documentation, including release notes.
  • Proactively identify content gaps and recommend documentation improvements.

Training & Certification

  • Collaborate with the Head of Training & Education to develop training materials.
  • Assist in reviewing certification submissions for the Squirro Academy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Engineering and Delivery teams to understand new functionalities and document them clearly.
  • Notify internal teams of community questions and ensure proper follow-up.

Community Engagement

  • Monitor and participate in community forums to ensure questions are answered promptly.
  • Provide first-level technical support for partners and help build an engaged, informed partner community.

What You Bring

As this region continues to grow, we're looking for a hands-on Technical Writer who is comfortable working independently, learning quickly and bridging communication across technical and non-technical audiences. You will support Product, Engineering, Training & Education and Delivery teams in delivering high-quality documentation and partner enablement.

  • 1+ years of experience in technical writing or client-facing technical support role
  • Experience with current documentation best practices.
  • Experience in industries involving AI, NLP, Machine Learning or working with unstructured data in a previous project or role is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C2 level).
  • Technical aptitude or interest in AI, LLMs, Knowledge Graphs, Search Analytics/Data Science, Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline is preferred.

Tools You'll Use

You'll work with a modern toolset to ensure efficient planning, collaboration, and execution across teams and projects. Key tools include:

  • Documentation and Community – Sphinx / ReadTheDocs, Discourse
  • Data Storage – ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, MariaDB, Redis
  • Web components – Nginx, Flask
  • Frontend components – React
  • Core Software – Python, JavaScript
  • Collaboration – Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), Teams

Experience with these tools is preferred but not mandatory, we're looking for someone who is tech-savvy and quick to learn.
