Auto Elegance Sdn Bhd is an authorised dealership for GWM (Great Wall Motor) vehicles in Malaysia, working in partnership with Great Wall Motor Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the national distributor for GWM and a wholly owned subsidiary of GWM China. GWM is a global automotive brand offering electric vehicles (EVs), SUVs, and off road SUVs under nameplates such as ORA, HAVAL, WEY, and TANK. As our GWM service volume increases, we are looking for an Automotive Technician to carry out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to brand standards in our workshop.
Role Overview
As an Automotive Technician (GWM), you will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on GWM vehicles, including EVs, hybrids, and conventional models. You will work closely with the Service team to ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and on time in accordance with GWM standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled services (lube service, general service, periodic maintenance) according to GWM service guidelines.
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and (where trained) EV systems.
Execute repair work, parts replacement, and adjustments as per job orders.
Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
Follow safety procedures, especially when working on high voltage EV systems (after training/certification).
Record work performed, parts used, and time taken accurately on job cards.
Support pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and fitting of accessories for new vehicles when required.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workshop area.
Requirements
Minimum 2 - 5 years experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or workshop environment.
Relevant technical qualification (automotive, mechatronics, or related).
Experience with Chinese brands or EVs is an advantage, but not mandatory.
Able to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and use diagnostic tools.
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Language: Basic proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage (to read principal documentation and communicate with team), plus basic English / Bahasa Malaysia.
Willing to undergo training on GWM models and EV safety.
