About the role

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the ongoing functionality and reliability of equipment and facilities within a facility or organization. This position involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, conducting repairs, and assisting with facility maintenance tasks to support operational efficiency and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and systems according to established schedules and procedures
• Lubricate moving parts, replace worn components, and perform adjustments to ensure equipment operates smoothly and efficiently
• Document maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements, in maintenance logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform troubleshooting activities to identify root causes of issues
• Conduct repairs or replacements of faulty components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and electrical wiring, using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Work with other maintenance team members or external vendors as needed to resolve complex equipment problems and minimize downtime
• Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment or machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components
• Follow manufacturer guidelines, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure proper installation and alignment of equipment
• Assist with general facility maintenance tasks, such as repairing doors, windows, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC systems
• Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe work environment and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

About you

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
• 2 years of technical experience in an FMCG manufacturing plant
• Familiarity with industrial equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing systems
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Good problem-solving skills
