Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Automation Tester to join our QA team in the banking domain. The candidate will assist in testing banking applications, developing automation scripts, identifying defects, and ensuring software quality and compliance with banking standards.

The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of software testing concepts, automation tools, and an interest in banking and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

Understand business and functional requirements for banking applications.

Develop and execute automated test scripts for web and API applications.

Perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.

Identify, log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and senior QA team members.

Participate in test planning, test case preparation, and test execution.

Maintain test documentation and automation reports.

Support continuous integration and testing activities.

Ensure application quality, security, and compliance standards are met.

Technical Skills

Basic knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC.

Understanding of automation testing tools such as:

Selenium WebDriver

Cypress

Playwright (optional)

Knowledge of programming/scripting languages:

Java / Python / JavaScript

Basic understanding of API testing using:

Postman

Rest Assured (preferred)

Familiarity with:

TestNG / JUnit

Git

Jira or similar defect tracking tools

Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.

Banking Domain Knowledge

Understanding of banking concepts such as:

Accounts

Payments

Transactions

Loans

Internet/Mobile Banking

Awareness of data security and compliance practices is an advantage.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Relevant software testing certifications are a plus:

ISTQB

Automation Testing Certifications

Preferred Qualities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Willingness to learn banking systems and automation frameworks.

Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.

Nice to Have

Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology.
