Test Lead

Role Summary

The Test Lead will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading all testing and quality assurance activities throughout the system development lifecycle. The role ensures that the solution meets functional, technical, security, integration, performance, usability, and operational requirements prior to deployment and acceptance.

The candidate should have experience in government or large-scale ICT projects and be familiar with KRISA/KRISA-related documentation, testing deliverables, and government system development and acceptance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the overall Test Strategy, Test Plan, test schedule, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reports.
• Lead end-to-end testing activities including:
• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• Functional Testing
• Integration/API Testing
• Regression Testing
• Performance and Load Testing
• Security Testing coordination
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Production Verification / Post-Deployment Testing
• Review BRS, URS, SRS, FRS and system design documents to ensure requirements are testable and adequately covered.
• Establish and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure complete coverage from business requirements through test cases and acceptance.
• Coordinate testing across application, dashboard, data analytics, AI, GIS, API/integration and other relevant system components.
• Validate data accuracy, data processing, ETL/data integration, dashboard KPIs, reports, visualisations and analytical outputs.
• Coordinate testing of AI/analytics functionality, including validation of model outputs and business rules where applicable.
• Manage defect identification, logging, classification, prioritisation, assignment, retesting and closure.
• Conduct defect review meetings with developers, Business Analysts, technical teams and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor testing progress, defect trends, test coverage and quality metrics, and provide regular reporting to the Project Manager.
• Lead and coordinate UAT preparation and execution with users and stakeholders.
• Ensure all critical and high-priority defects are resolved or appropriately managed before system acceptance and production deployment.
• Prepare testing evidence and documentation required for project governance, audit, acceptance and handover.
• Ensure testing activities and documentation comply with applicable KRISA/KRISA-related requirements, government ICT standards, security requirements and project quality procedures.
• Support system acceptance, deployment, warranty and defect resolution activities.

KRISA / Documentation Responsibilities

The Test Lead should be familiar with structured government ICT project documentation and be capable of preparing, reviewing and maintaining testing-related documents such as:

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in software/system testing and quality assurance.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Test Lead or equivalent role, preferably for enterprise or government ICT projects.
• Experience managing SIT, UAT, regression, integration and performance testing.
• Familiarity with KRISA/KRISA-related documentation and Malaysian Government ICT project implementation processes is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile and/or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Experience testing web applications, dashboards, APIs, databases and data-driven systems.
• Exposure to data analytics, AI/ML, GIS or large-scale data integration solutions would be an advantage.
• Experience with testing/defect management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Selenium, Postman, JMeter or equivalent.
• Good understanding of database and SQL validation is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification.
• Previous involvement in Malaysian Government / Ministry / Agency ICT projects.
• Experience working with multi-vendor and multi-system integration environments.
• Familiarity with government security, data governance, SSDLC and system acceptance requirements.
• Experience in testing AI-enabled analytics, executive dashboards, operational dashboards, GIS applications and API-based data integrations.
