Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

1. Lead and manage the tooling development team in designing and developing new tooling, molds, jigs, fixtures, and dies for manufacturing processes.

2. Oversee the full tooling lifecycle including design, fabrication, testing, modification, and maintenance.

3. Work closely with production, R&D, and engineering teams to ensure tooling meets product and manufacturing requirements.

4. Develop and implement tooling strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize manufacturing costs.

5. Manage tooling budgets, schedules, and project timelines.

6. Ensure tooling designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

7. Troubleshoot tooling issues and provide technical solutions to improve performance and durability.

8. Supervise tooling trials, testing, and validation before production implementation.

9. Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for tooling fabrication or modification.

10. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling reliability and manufacturing productivity.

11. Train and mentor engineers and technical staff in tooling design and maintenance practices.

12. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and development plans for tooling projects.

Job Requirements

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

Experience

Minimum 810 years of experience in tooling design, tooling development, or tool & die manufacturing.

At least 35 years in a managerial or supervisory role in tooling or manufacturing.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of tool and die design, molds, jigs, fixtures, stamping tools, and machining processes.

Experience with CNC machining, conventional machining, and tooling fabrication.

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, milling, and turning.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to tooling performance.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in precision engineering or manufacturing industry.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Experience working with international tooling standards and quality systems.
