The Tooling Product Engineer is directly responsible to the Head of Department - Zero Defects.
Requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or its equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in a similar capacity (experience in an MRO environment is an added advantage)
- Strong knowledge and experience in CAE & CAD software, calibration and technical drawing management experience
- Knowledge and experience in 3D-CAD/CAM tool design of aero engine parts
- Excellent Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Reverse Engineering & Rapid Prototyping experience
- Excellent knowledge in tooling design, fabrication, modification and acceptance
- Good knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) methodology
- Experience in tooling development and vendor management
- Excellent knowledge of tool manufacturing and design
- Able to recommend tool and fixture modification based on production and engineering department
- Able to manage and control Companyâs tools and drawings
- Excellent team player
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Bahasa Melayu
- Good computer skills especially with Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
Responsibilities:
- Review tools design and/or modify tools to support product groups in engineering
- Extract the technical requirement, and proposed technical solution and produce or review engineering drawings for tools in CAD or a similar format
- Develop and maintain tool drawings control procedures and tooling list
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers and procurement department in procuring and delivery of new SSE tools and equipment
- Supervise and/or perform commissioning and acceptance of SSE tools and equipment
- Supervise and/or perform MSA as part of SSE tools acceptance
- Supervise and/or perform SSE tools evaluations prior to release for production used (eg: Assign tool identification number (Part Number) for all tools)
- Carry out continuous improvement to production SSE tools, including ways to standardize SSE tools and equipment across various product types
- Be a âSubject Matter Expertâ to the Engineering and Production Teams on tooling issues
- Streamline and optimize tooling related procedures and processes
- Supervise and or perform FAI as part of new concept SSE tool acceptance
- Comply and support Environmental Health & Safety policies, rules and regulations at all times
- Perform other technical tasks as assigned by the superior or any other person designated
