Job Summary

The Trade Data & Classification Manager role is responsible for accurate HS Code classification and product licensing, ensuring alignment with the needs of Purchasers and Business Partners. The role involves data analysis, reporting and process improvement, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, reducing manual work, and improving coordination across MR.DIY and with overseas teams.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive professional with strong analytical skills and effective communication, who can deliver tasks accurately, efficiently and on time, consistently exceeding expectations.

Responsibilities

1. HS Code Classification & Governance

  • Oversee daily HS Code classification for all products, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance.
  • Maintain and govern the HS Code master data, ensuring timely updates and proper documentation.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for HS Code matters and provide guidance to internal teams.

2. Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform analysis on HS Code classification accuracy, licensing status, and operational performance.
  • Prepare regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) highlighting trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to track team and process performance.

3. Process Improvement & Change Management

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies and recurring issues in HS Code classification and licensing processes.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and define before and after workflows to demonstrate tangible improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to standardize processes, enhance controls and improve data quality.

4. Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on HS Code and licensing processes.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members on HS Code classification and licensing matters.
  • Act as the key contact for escalations related to HS Code and licensing issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in HS Code classification, customs or licensing, with managerial or lead experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS) and trade regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in reporting and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and manage change.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a structured and risk-aware mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in retail or FMCG operations.
  • Exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems for HS Code management.
