Role Overview
We are seeking a driven and resourceful Trader to source, negotiate, and secure supplies of Used Cooking Oil (UCO), Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME), and other bio-based feedstocks both locally and internationally. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a sustainable and cost-efficient supply chain while adhering to international sustainability certification standards such as ISCC.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, source, and secure supplies of UCO, POME, and other bio-based feedstocks across domestic and international markets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, traders, and logistics partners.
- Negotiate purchase agreements, contracts, and pricing to maximize margins while ensuring sustainable supply.
- Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and currency fluctuations to optimize trading strategies.
- Ensure compliance with ISCC certification requirements, sustainability standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with operations, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth execution of contracts and timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, contracts, and certification documentation for audits and reporting.
- Support risk management strategies, including hedging and foreign exchange exposure management.
- Explore new sourcing opportunities and expand supplier networks to strengthen the company's global bio-feedstock footprint.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Agriculture, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Proven experience in trading, procurement, or commodity sourcing, preferably in biofuels, oils, fats, or agri-commodities.
- Strong knowledge of UCO, POME, and other renewable/bio-feedstocks markets.
- Familiarity with ISCC certification and sustainability compliance.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across cultures.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to understand commodity pricing and risk management.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international trading environment.
- Willingness to travel frequently for supplier engagement and market development.
