We are seeking an experienced Transport Planning Expert to develop a comprehensive Master Plan for Cox's Bazar District, home to one of the world's most stunning and unique sea beaches located in Bangladesh.
Project Description:
Cox's Bazar is globally renowned for its breathtaking miles of golden sands, towering cliffs, surfing waves, and rare conch shells. The region's vibrant economic, social, and cultural activities are complemented by its beautiful mosques, colorful pagodas, and Buddhist temples, making it a magnet for both local and international visitors.
This project, a collaborative effort by the Government of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Army, and Celltron, seeks to develop a comprehensive master plan for the sustainable development of Cox's Bazar. The plan aligns with the government's vision for regional development and its commitment to enhancing national tourism infrastructure. It will take a holistic approach, meticulously considering the intricate interplay between Cox's Bazar's unique ecological environment, existing industries, natural resources, rich cultural heritage, and existing infrastructure and assets.
Under the leadership of the Government of Bangladesh, the project aims to create synergies between various governmental agencies and stakeholders to ensure an integrated and cohesive development strategy. Through a multifaceted analysis, the master plan will identify key areas for growth and development, while ensuring the long-term preservation of the region's natural beauty and ecological balance.
This initiative underscores the government's dedication to promoting sustainable development and enhancing the living standards of local communities, ultimately contributing to the nation's socio-economic progress.
Project Scope:
The project scope encompasses the development of a detailed master plan for sustainable transport planning in Cox's Bazar. This will include the following key deliverables: Comprehensive Assessment with a focus on transport planning; Resource Inventory integrating transport needs; Industry and Livelihood Analysis considering transportation infrastructure; Cultural Heritage Assessment with implications for transport planning; Infrastructure and Assets Mapping, emphasizing transportation networks; Sustainable Development Strategies incorporating transport planning; Implementation Framework for transport infrastructure; and any additional elements deemed necessary for the successful completion of the transport planning project.

Enhance the region's attractiveness with integrated transport planning for all residents, workers, visitors, and investors.
Utilize opportunities for development, focusing on strategic transport planning for maximum connectivity.
Ensure sustainable growth through well-planned expansion and improved transport services.Qualification Criteria:
Should have a Master's Degree in Transportation Planning from a recognized University or similar and equivalent educational qualification.
Should have a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in transport planning /engineering of similar magnitude and nature.
Job Description:
The Transport Planning Expert should work under the Team Leader and will be responsible for carrying out transport and traffic studies, formulating urban transport policies, developing a strategic transport network for the CoxDA area, reviewing and advising on revisions related to transportation, and advising on the development of regional spatial strategies (transportation strategies). The expert will assist in the development of preliminary plans (transportation strategies) and attend meetings as and when required.

Job Location: Cox's Bazar (Have to relocate to Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh)Salary Range:
USD 5,000-7,000/month (Negotiable)
Staff Month: 09
Salary and Compensation: The offered monthly salary for this position ranges from $5,000 to $7,000, depending on experience level.
Joining Date: There will be no extension to the joining date. The candidate must join by July 1st.
