Urgent: Software Developer (Intermediate) - Contract with Client in Kuala Lumpur

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer (IntermediateSenior) to design, develop, enhance, and maintain software solutions for the Client Portal and OAO platformscontributing to system stability, scalability, and continuous improvement while working across the full SDLC with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web and backend applications supporting Client Portal and OAO

Own and enhance backend services and application components with a focus on robustness, performance, scalability, and maintainability

Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and working software solutions

Develop and maintain application frameworks, reusable components, and shared services

Analyze existing systems to identify improvement opportunities, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt

Refactor and modernize legacy components to align with current best practices and architectural standards

Troubleshoot and resolve production defects and incidents; perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes

Apply development standards, guidelines, and coding conventions; conduct code reviews for quality, security, and maintainability

Produce technical specifications, design documentation, and test plans as required

Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders through requirements, design, build, test, deploy, and post-release support

Support release activities, deployment validation, and post-project application support

Propose technical improvements, tooling enhancements, and automation opportunities beyond assigned tasks

Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate applicability to existing and future systems

Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior developers when needed

What You Bring

Must-have:

Strong hands-on development capability across web and backend applications

Sound engineering judgment with a focus on stability, scalability, performance, and maintainability

Experience working across the full SDLC (requirements to post-release support)

Ability to translate business/functional requirements into technical designs and working solutions

Experience with troubleshooting production issues, root cause analysis, and long-term corrective actions

Comfortable with coding standards, code reviews, and producing technical documentation and test plans

Strong collaboration skills across QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders

Nice-to-have:

Experience modernizing/refactoring legacy components and reducing technical debt

Interest in automation/tooling improvements and continuous improvement initiatives

Mentoring experience or willingness to guide junior developers
