Job Purpose

  • The role is responsible for ensuring that the Bank's Group Credit Risk Policies remain relevant by conducting timely updates and reviews. This position requires managing credit risk through proactive policy review.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and review credit risk policies to ensure their relevance and effectiveness.
  • Present credit risk policies to various Management and Board-level committees for endorsement or approval.
  • Conduct credit risk assessments for new products or product variations.
  • Participate in and provide constructive feedback on the Bank's credit-related projects.
  • Educate stakeholders on credit risk policy requirements through briefings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Address credit risk policy-related queries from internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Head of Group Credit Risk Management or the Group Chief Risk Officer.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management, with a focus on credit policy review.
  • Professional credit certification such as CCP, CCE, or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of retail and business credit, particularly in credit risk assessment, financial analysis and risk management.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail; adept at working with numbers and conducting in-depth analysis.
  • Sound Knowledge of industry, market and general business trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Good understanding of banking products and services.
  • Familiar with BNM's credit policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
