Job Summary
The Trade Sales Advisory role at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is responsible for driving trade finance business growth by identifying client needs, providing tailored solutions, and deepening client relationships.
Job Responsibilities
- Proactively engage with corporate and commercial clients to understand their trade finance requirements, including import/export financing, guarantees, and supply chain solutions.
- Structure and propose appropriate trade finance products and services that align with client business objectives and risk appetites.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their trade finance needs.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Credit, Legal, Operations, and Product Development teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of trade solutions.
- Prepare and present comprehensive trade finance proposals, including financial analysis and risk assessments, to clients and internal committees.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the trade finance landscape to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Achieve individual and team sales targets for trade finance products and services.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on trade finance products and sales strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade finance sales or advisory roles within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of various trade finance products, including Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Receivables Financing, and Supply Chain Finance.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong client relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and assess trade-related risks.
- Strong knowledge of international trade practices, UCP, URC, and other relevant trade rules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certifications in trade finance (e.g., CDCS) are an advantage.
