Work Location: Senai, Johor Bahru
The Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse operations with a primary focus on inventory management. This role ensures accurate stock control, smooth goods movement, and efficient storage practices. The Supervisor will lead a team of warehouse staff, enforce safety and compliance standards, and drive operational improvements to achieve company objectives.
Key Accountabilities
1.Inventory Management:
- Coordinate and manage day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storing, order processing, stocks adjustment, location management and dispatching.
- Ensure accurate inventory records through regular stock counts, cycle counts, and system updates.
- Coordinate with other departments such as operation, freight forwarding and customs to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Generate and review inventory-related reports for management decision-making
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse processes and inventory control
2.WMS Super User Support & Management:
- Act as the WMS Super User (Oracle), providing expert-level support to end users, ensuring that the system is used effectively across all warehouse functions.
- Configure WMS settings to align with warehouse operational requirements and business processes.
- Train warehouse and operational staff on WMS functionalities, processes, and system updates.
- Serve as the point of contact between warehouse and WMS-related queries, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Lead WMS migration/setup projects, including planning, execution, and coordination with IT and vendors
- Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and smooth transition to new WMS
3.System Optimization and Process Improvement:
- Continuously monitor and evaluate WMS performance to identify opportunities for improvements, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with warehouse, IT, and operations teams to identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements.
- Recommend system changes or upgrades to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.
- Regularly audit system data to ensure inventory accuracy, compliance with operational guidelines, and to mitigate risks of errors.
4.Data Management and Reporting:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the WMS, particularly inventory levels, movement tracking, and order status.
- Generate regular operational and inventory reports from WMS, providing insights to senior management on performance metrics and KPIs.
- Support the creation of customized reports and dashboards to assist management in strategic decision-making.
5.Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in conducting internal audits to ensure adherence to operational procedures and warehouse best practices.
- Help in maintaining up-to-date system logs and documentation for audit purposes.
6.Health, Safety and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations across all operations
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2-3 years in a lead role.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, and planning software.
- Proficiency in data management, reporting, and using WMS-related software tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).
- Familiarity with the logistics sector in Malaysia especially in Johor including local regulations and market dynamics.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and WMS-related software
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety protocols, inventory management, and logistics operations
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data and processes
