Role Summary
The WAT / WLR System & Application Lead is responsible for understanding customer requirements and market needs for WAT and WLR applications, and translating them into clear system and product definitions.
This role will work closely with BU leadership, internal R&D teams, and external vendors to ensure the right system is built for the market.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Requirement & Market Understanding
- Understand customer use cases and requirements for WAT and WLR applications
- Identify common customer pain points and market expectations
- Translate customer and market needs into system‑level requirements
System Definition & Product Input
- Define system requirements based on application and market needs
- Support early product definition and architecture decisions
- Identify key trade‑offs (accuracy, throughput, scalability)
Vendor & Ecosystem Liaison
- Liaise with external vendors, including:
- Wafer prober suppliers
- Probe card vendors
- Probe card interface and connection solutions
- Align vendor capabilities with system and product requirements
- Support technical discussions related to contact performance, stability, and reliability
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal hardware, software, and system teams
- Act as the technical reference for WAT / WLR applications within the BU
- Support BU leadership in technical decision‑making
What This Role Is Not
- Not responsible for sales ownership
- Not responsible for product launch ownership
- Customer relationship ownership is handled by BU management
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
- Strong experience with WAT and/or WLR systems or applications
- Familiarity with wafer probers, probe cards, and probe card interfaces
- Good understanding of semiconductor parametric or reliability testing
- Able to communicate clearly with customers, vendors, and internal teams
