This role is for a Wok Chef, based in WP, Kuala Lumpur. We welcome candidates with wok experience at any levelwhether Demi Chef, Chef de Partie (CDP), or equivalent. The Wok Chef will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting wok-style dishes while ensuring quality, consistency, and high kitchen standards. Key duties include maintaining cleanliness, managing stock, ensuring food safety compliance, and working closely with the kitchen team to deliver excellent dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook wok dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistent taste, presentation, and portion size for all dishes.
- Execute wok operations efficiently during peak hours.
- Handle daily mise-en-place and ingredient preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the wok station.
- Follow all kitchen SOPs, safety, and HALAL/food handling guidelines.
- Assist with stock control, rotation, and storage of ingredients.
- Work closely with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Requirement:
- Proficiency in wok cooking techniques with strong ability to prepare Asian cuisine (Chinese, Thai).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a wok/Asian kitchen (Demi Chef, CDP, or similar).
- Experience in kitchen safety, hygiene practices, and food quality control.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Culinary certifications or relevant training is an added advantage.
