Job Description

Role Overview

The Finance Director, APAC will serve as the regional finance leader for Asia‑Pacific, working closely with Group HQ in Shanghai to ensure effective financial management, governance, and business support across the region.

This role is responsible for overseeing end‑to‑end finance activities for APAC operations, including manufacturing and sales entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, managing financial risks, and supporting business growth. As an individual contributor, the role requires a hands‑on, execution‑focused finance leader capable of operating independently in a complex, multi‑country environment.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Financial Management

  • Lead and manage all APAC finance activities, including accounting, FP&A, taxation, treasury, and statutory reporting.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial management, internal controls, and governance frameworks aligned with Group policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to HQ.
  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and capital allocation across the region.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Commercial Finance Support

  • Act as finance lead within APAC, supporting setup, scaling, and ongoing operations.
  • Ensure effective cost control, product costing, inventory management, and margin analysis.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams to support sales performance.
  • Support business planning and performance management across APAC.

FP&A & Business partnering

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning for APAC.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, scenario modelling, and business recommendations to regional and HQ management.
  • Monitor business performance against budget, forecasts, and KPIs and drive corrective actions where required.
  • Support strategic initiatives and business growth projects across the region.

Tax, Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with local finance, tax, audit, and statutory requirements across APAC jurisdictions.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and professional service providers.
  • Coordinate regional statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting, ensuring consistency and compliance.

HQ & Cross‑border Coordination

  • Act as the primary finance interface between APAC and Shanghai HQ.
  • Ensure alignment with Group finance policies, reporting standards, and internal controls.
  • Support intercompany transactions, transfer pricing coordination, and cross‑border finance matters.
  • Provide finance support for M&A activities, including due diligence, transaction execution, and integration, as required.

Requirements

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • MBA is a plus.

Experience

  • 15+ years of overall finance management experience covering FP&A, accounting, tax, and compliance.
  • Experience in a manufacturing organisation with commercial / sales operations is preferred.
  • Experience supporting or participating in M&A transactions is a plus.
  • Medical device industry experience is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working in regional or multinational environments with HQ collaboration.

Professional Qualifications

  • Preferred CPA or ACCA qualification required.
  • Bachelor in Business or equivalent with finance related

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of local finance, tax, and audit regulations in APAC.
  • Proven capability to set up and optimise finance management systems and control capital operation risks.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a hands‑on individual contributor.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; additional APAC languages are a plus
