Role Description

This is a hybrid role located in Subang Jaya, with flexibility for some remote work, requiring an Application Project Manager to manage web application development projects by leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including third-party vendors, designers, developers, database administrators, and others, from scoping and planning to implementation and delivery. This is a full-time (1-year renewable contractual) role with an emphasis on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment while building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of projects according to the standards and expectations of the project.
  • Manage assigned resources as appropriate to the implementation of project related activities.
  • Prepare and maintain all project documentation such as; initiation, delivery plans and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain Programmed Plans and reporting documentation as necessary to ensure timely communication and successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • Ensure projects are planned and executed within project timeline and budget.
  • Project team roles and responsibilities:
  1. Risk and Issue identification and management
  2. System and Operational Acceptance testing
  3. Deployment planning, management and transition to live operation
  4. Training: Business and IT (as needed)
  5. Operational support plans
  • Ensure deliverables meet required quality standards, i.e. CMMI.
  • Ensure adequate levels of documentation are produced as part of the technical solution.
  • Develop and maintain a Communications Plan and keep the business and IT communities appraised of project plans and related implications.
  • Ensure the hand-over to operational support (Infrastructure Support, Applications Support and Service Management (if any).
  • Production of progress and other management reports.
  • Ensure business benefits can be realized or that risks inhibiting realization are highlighted.
  • To carry out other tasks as agreed within the division.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • PRINCE 2 and/or PMP certified (preferable).
  • Extensive project management experience, in a role that requires involvement and understanding of business activities. Aware of industry and professional standards (e.g. ISO 9001).
  • Extensive experience in software development/application environment.
  • Familiar with methodologies and project tools such as PRINCE 2, PMI and Microsoft Project.
  • Effective at acquiring an understanding of a problem or situation, and developing an approach to interacting with the situation.
  • Needs to keep overall objectives and strategies in mind, and not be deflected by matters of detail.
