Application Solution Architect

We are seeking an experienced Application Solution Architect to lead the design, modernization, migration, and governance of enterprise applications on Microsoft Azure.

This role combines architecture leadership, presales engagement, application modernization, DevOps transformation, and cloud governance, with a strong hands‑on foundation across Azure PaaS, containers, DevOps, and GitHub.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, sales teams, architects, and engineering teams to translate business objectives into secure, scalable, and cost‑effective Azure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Application Modernization

• Lead end‑to‑end application modernization initiatives, migrating legacy applications to Azure PaaS and cloud‑native architectures
• Design secure, scalable, resilient Azure architectures aligned with enterprise standards and best practices
• Define architectural patterns for microservices, containerized, and serverless architectures
• Analyze application dependencies, configurations, and migration pathways
• Ensure architectures align with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and strategies

Azure Platform & Technical Leadership

• Architect solutions using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Instances
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption using ARM templates / Terraform
• Oversee application deployments, observability, and reliability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics
• Enforce security and compliance across the application lifecycle (Entra ID, identity, data protection)

Presales & Client Engagement

• Act as technical lead during presales, customer workshops, and solution‑shaping discussions
• Create High‑Level Designs (HLDs), architectural proposals, and cost estimations (ROM)
• Contribute to RFP/RFI responses and Statements of Work (SOW)
• Design and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate business value
• Communicate architectural decisions clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders

DevOps, GitHub & Migration Leadership

• Lead and govern Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise Cloud migrations
• Plan, execute, and monitor migrations using GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) or equivalent tools
• Validate post‑migration repositories (issues, PRs, metadata, CI/CD workflows)
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration errors, warnings, and user attribution issues
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure pipeline integrity and quality
• Maintain detailed documentation for migration activities and remediation steps

Governance, Risk & Best Practices

• Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for development teams
• Establish governance frameworks using Azure Policies and Blueprints
• Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies
• Ensure solutions meet performance, security, scalability, and cost‑optimization goals

Core Technical Skills

Azure & Application Architecture

• Deep expertise in Azure IaaS & PaaS services
• Strong experience with application modernization and cloud migration strategies
• Designing distributed systems, microservices, and serverless architectures

Programming & Development

• Hands‑on experience in one or more of:
• .NET / C#
• Java
• Node.js
• Python
• Strong understanding of application and database connectivity configurations

Containers & Kubernetes

• Containerization using Docker
• Hosting containerized applications on AKS
• Understanding Kubernetes internals and operational best practices

DevOps & Automation

• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Strong knowledge of Git version control, branching strategies, and repository management
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Experience integrating APIs into automated workflows

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of experience in application development and architecture
• Proven leadership in application modernization and Azure migrations
• Experience leading technical teams (5+ engineers)
• Strong understanding of GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Azure DevOps
• Exposure to large‑scale source code repository migrations
• Experience working with enterprise stakeholders and executive leadership

Certifications (Required / Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Required)
• GitHub Foundations / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps certifications (Preferred)
