Job Description

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing business-critical applications to ensure optimal performance and availability. The role involves providing technical support, resolving incidents, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable solutions.

The key responsibilities of this role, among others are :-

Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise applications to ensure high availability and performance.

Investigate and resolve application-related incidents, problems, and service requests within agreed SLAs.

Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurring issues.

Collaborate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and deployment activities.

Manage application configurations, patches, and upgrades in production and non-production environments.

Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and technical solutions for knowledge sharing.

Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards during application maintenance.

Provide on-call support and participate in incident management during critical outages.

Job requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is desired.

Strong understanding of application architecture and support methodologies.

Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).

Experience with Linux/Unix environments and scripting (e.g., Shell, Python).

Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).

Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Knowledge of Java/.NET applications and middleware technologies.

Understanding of API integrations and web services.

Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
