Job Title: AS400 Senior Engineer (IBM i Platform)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Role Duration: 6–12 months (extendable)
Experience Required: 6–10 Years
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled AS400 Senior Engineer with strong expertise in the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system administration, performance optimization, backup and recovery, and ensuring high availability of critical systems. This role requires excellent technical knowledge along with strong stakeholder communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support the IBM i (AS400) platform in a production environment
- Perform OS administration, including patch management and system upgrades
- Manage backup and recovery operations using BRMS
- Handle LPAR configuration, virtualization, and disaster recovery (DR) replication
- Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Support data center migration activities (preferred)
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure system stability and performance
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for systems, processes, and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of IBM i (AS400) platform
- Hands-on experience with IBM i OS administration
- Expertise in BRMS backup and recovery
- Experience with LPAR, virtualization, and DR replication
- Proven ability in performance tuning and issue resolution
- Good understanding of data center operations
Soft Skills:
- Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of Bahasa Melayu is an added advantage
- Excellent technical documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data center migration projects
- Exposure to enterprise-level infrastructure environments
