Job Description
Your Day To Day
- Assist in the creation of and work within the established Human Resources Department budget and control expenses.
- Work with department heads to anticipate and plan for upcoming staffing needs and related budgets.
- Ensure worker's compensation and insurance claims are properly documented and reported.
- Support the recruitment activities by managing job fairs, screening, interviewing and testing applicants; coordinate background checks/references, and process applicable paperwork, etc.
- Assist in periodic processes relating to employee compensation and benefits including salary bonus distribution database, monthly salary administration, OSH licensing matters relating to health checks, etc.
- Assist the HR Manager in driving employee engagement processes by conducting market research, analysis of market and internal data and facilitating focus groups.
- Assist in managing employees facilities i.e. employee accommodation, employee transport, B1 Café and lockers rooms to ensure safe and effective operating conditions.
- Assist the HR Manager in new employee orientation to familiarize employees with Company standards, policies, procedures, rules and other employee programs.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date HR records and personnel files.
- Conduct Exit Interview with colleagues Job band 8-10 who are leaving the employment voluntarily and record accordingly to produce analysis reports as required.
- Assist in consolidating and preparing monthly reports including manning data, owner's presentation, HR conference call presentations and Town Hall presentations.
- Assist and participate in work groups/ committees to drive all InterContinental Kuala Lumpur / IHG employee engagement activities.
- Ensure that all Human Resources SOPs and policies and procedures are updated.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining data from exit interviews, turnover statistics and absenteeism reports to identify trends and market data analysis.
- Ensure all Human Resources department's records (both hard and electronically stored) are protected and up-to-date at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure all communication tools in Heart of House are updated and relevant at all times.
- To ensure compliance with employment laws, government agencies, and company policies and procedures (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Act, Employment Act 1955, Industrial Act 1967, employee records administration, etc.).
- Ensure that all employees comply with Company safety and health procedures.
- Ensure that Company hiring standards, laws and applicable regulations are followed in the application, hiring and selection process.
- Ensure all equipment pertaining to Human Resources operations are in safe and effective operating condition at all times.
- Perform any other ad-hoc tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor or management to support the smooth operation of the department.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Management or related field preferred.
- 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
