Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for AHAM and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare, monitor, and analyse monthly financial performance, budgets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for AHAM and its subsidiaries.
  • Analyse, investigate, and report on significant budget variances, including the identification of appropriate remedial actions where necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasting for AHAM and its subsidiaries, taking into consideration relevant activity data, cost pressures, and margin requirements to support budget submissions.
  • Act as a business partner, working closely with Business Units and Senior Management to prepare business cases and bids for new business initiatives or internal system redesign projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of group-level budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the group financial year-end closing process and the preparation of annual reports.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures, systems, and process improvements to enhance departmental workflow efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and support new reporting requirements for AHAM and its subsidiaries, including business units.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, including due diligence, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of accounting principles and ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Assist and support internal and external audit processes, including follow-up and implementation of audit findings.
  • Support and work closely with the direct reporting manager and team members to establish annual goals and objectives.
  • Provide support to the Head of Finance on special projects and ad-hoc assignments, including market and competitor analysis.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; candidates with significant and relevant working experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably within a Unit Trust Company or financial services industry.
  • Experience using SunSystems will be an added advantage.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, with strong written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Capable of working independently and managing extended working hours to meet tight deadlines.
