About The Role:

1. Financial Accounting & Management:

  • Manage the full set of accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL).
  • Perform daily accounting operations, including recording all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor company bank accounts and cash flow.
  • Handle inter-company transactions and reconciliations, if applicable.

2. Company Accounts Management:

  • Oversee the company's banking relationships and manage all corporate accounts.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure liquidity for operational needs.
  • Manage payment processing and approval workflows.

3. Expense & Reimbursement Management:

  • Establish, implement, and manage the company's expense reimbursement policy.
  • Verify and process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all reimbursements.

4. Budgeting & Financial Analysis:

  • Assist management in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor budget versus actual performance and provide detailed variance analysis.
  • Prepare regular management reports and ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

5. Compliance & Taxation:

  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory requirements in Malaysia, including submissions to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) for Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and other relevant taxes.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretary as required.
  • Stay updated on changes in Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.

6. Process & System Implementation:

  • Develop, document, and maintain robust financial policies and internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA Australia, MIA) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Mandatory: Proven experience and deep understanding of Malaysian financial services, banking, or Hire Purchase Business related accounting principles, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a startup environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
